'We Can't Control The Winds, But We Can Adjust Our Sails'
As human beings we can have experiences that happen that are out of our control. Some of these experiences can be caused by acute stress, loss, or trauma. When this happens, it is not uncommon for our lives to unravel. Trauma can be the invisible force that impacts the way we live our lives, our relationships, and our world view. My greatest passion is to bring healing, peace, acceptance, comfort, and connection to people's lives. Every person is unique and worthy of having the life they envision for themselves.
I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology, a master's degree in clinical social work, and a secondary Master's degree in addictions counseling.
I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual, therefore I am trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches. I strongly believe in the therapeutic alliance, and focus on safety, trust, and connection. I am trained in CBT, DBT, ACT, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and reprocessing) to treat trauma.
